Phygital Landscapes

(2026) Stoneware, Underglaze, Aluminum - 400mm x 400mm

Exhibited as part of London Craft Week 2026

Inspired by the rolling hills of California, ‘Phygital Landscapes’ is an imagined place - digitally sculpted and brought into the physical world in hand press-moulded clay. Underglaze pencil is used to draw a mesh grid on top of the forms, alluding to the digital meshes from which the forms were made. A direct dialogue between the digital and physical realms is made during the making process. In a post-digital world, technology becomes just another tool in the artist’s toolbox. It works with the artist instead of being the ‘artist’. The work aims to make one thing clear, in an increasingly digital world, the hand still matters.
